A tiered waterfall on Nambé Pueblo tribal land, open to visitors who pay the Pueblo's day-use fee at its recreation area.

Nambe Falls drops in tiers through a narrow canyon on Nambé Pueblo land in Santa Fe County, reached through the tribally managed Nambé Falls Recreation Area. As of this review, the Pueblo's own site lists the area as open to visitors on a restricted schedule - Thursday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - with two trails of about a quarter mile each leading from the Ramada Area: one climbs to an elevated overlook of the falls, and the other follows the river down to a lower pool and beach, where the Pueblo advises visitors to expect to get wet.

Nambé Pueblo charges a day-use fee of $20 per vehicle, separate from its camping and fishing permits, which cost more. The Pueblo warns that visitors arriving after 6 p.m. will not be admitted, given the time it takes to hike to the falls and back before closing. Because this is tribal land rather than a federal or state park, hours, fees and access can change without the kind of advance public notice other agencies give, so call the Nambé Falls Ranger Station or check the Pueblo's website again close to your visit.
